The Foundation Tara Ocean is seeking a physical oceanographer for the Tara Polaris 1 Expedition. The physical oceanographer will join the scientific team of six persons aboard Tara Polar Station that will conduct research during the winter leg of the Tara Polaris 1 transpolar drift expedition in the Arctic. The winter leg will last 8 months from September 2026 to April 2027 with no crew rotation.

We are now accepting manuscript submissions to the SAS special collection called

2020-2022 Synoptic Arctic Survey: Unveiling the Status and Oceanic Trends

Here, we invite studies that use SAS data from multiple and single cruises to provide new insight on hydrographic, biogeochemical and ecosystem state processes and trends in the Arctic Ocean. It brings together assessments of the interconnected system and climate change in the Arctic Ocean and their far-reaching impacts, as a joint issue of three AGU journals:

  1.   Journal of Geophysical Research: Oceans
  2. Journal of Geophysical Research: Biogeosciences
  3. Global Biogeochemical Cycles

The Swedish Polar Research Secretariat has an open call for early-career scientists to join on the icebreaker Oden for an expedition to the Central Arctic Ocean in August-September 2025. Deadline is 20 January 2025 (Canadian and Swedish-affiliated ECRs are prioritized).
